The Rainbow Warrior was a boat operated by the pro-environmental NGO Greenpeace. They used the ship to advocate and provide direct action for causes such as anti-seal hunting, anti-whaling, and anti-nuclear testing and -waste. Rainbow Warrior was purchased by Greenpeace in 1978 and operated until it was sunk by French intelligence services in New Zealand in 1985.
