In 1995, the Franklin Marshall-directed action movie Congo was released. The film, which was based on the Michael Crichton novel, starred Tim Curry, Ernie Hudson, and Laura Linney. The movie was a success at the box office though most critics gave bad reviews (the film was nominated for multiple Raspberry awards).
