Black Uhuru won the first ever Grammy for Best Reggae Recording in 1984 and since then have been nominated six times. The Jamaican reggae group was founded in 1972 and has been active ever since. Their 1986 album Brutal, released on Real Authentic Sound, was also nominated for the Best Reggae Grammy and charted in New Zealand and the Netherlands.
