The Washington Capitals' 1997-1998 season was good. Led by Peter Bondra, who had 52 goals that year, the Caps went 40-30-12. The team also included veterans like Dale Hunter, Joe Juneau, and Adam Oates. They went to the Stanley Cup Finals for their first time in franchise history in dramatic fashion, with six overtime wins on their way there. Sadly they lost out to the Detroit Red Wings, defending Stanley Cup champs. Thankfully for Caps fans, the team won the Stanley Cup 20 years later. This Starter brand shirt, in great condition with light fading, was once a reminder of what the Capitals almost achieved, but now it can be worn as a reminder of the long road it took them to become champions.
