Fort Valley State University, an HBCU located in Georgia, was founded in 1895. The school was originally founded as Fort Valley State College. FSVU's athletic teams are known as the Wild Cats. They are a NCAA Division II school. Despite the school's relatively small size, it has produced numerous professional athletes.
