James Brown was an American singer and performer. Born in 1933, Brown had a career that spanned over 50 years. Known as the "Godfather Of Soul," James Brown helped usher in the funk sound with such songs as "Get Up (I Feel Like A) Sex Machine." James Brown was an original inductee to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as well as the Rhythm And Blues and Songwriters Hall Of Fame. He was known especially for his energetic, theatric, and amazing live shows, including his classic cape routine where he'd expend all his energy before being draped with an elaborate cape and exiting the stage. This original James Brown shirt, nicely worn and faded, features a reference to his 1988 song "Static."
