Helmet are band form New York City founded in 1989. The band played an interesting style of heavy music, one that wasn't focused on a heavy image as much as it was an aggressive and dissonant sound. They dressed like normal people and just happened to play hard music. And maybe that's why they became so popular they they were signed to major label Interscope and released Gold-selling records. The band produced four records during their initial run before breaking up in 1998, although they reunited in 2004 and have remained active ever since. Quicksand were a similar band, playing somewhat angular heavy music on a large stage. They were also from New York but with more hardcore leanings instead of metal. The pair played often together, and have even gone on tour in their more recent careers as well. This original Helmet poster, originally framed in excellent condition, is from their show at the Kennel Club in 1992 with Quicksand.
