Vintage SST Records "Independent Record Store Sale" Poster

Notify me when this product is available:

SST is a label founded by Black Flag guitarist Greg Ginn in 1978. Ginn actually created the company as a radio equipment mail-order store, he ended up transforming it into a label to release music for his band because no one else would. This move was revolutionary, as many other labels followed suit in the same mold. SST became one of the biggest and most important independent labels of the punk scene and released record after iconic record, anything from bands like Bad Brains to Dinosaur Jr. to Minutemen to Soundgarden. In May 1992, the label, in conjunction with local record stores, hosted a sale where all LPs where $5.99 and all CDs were $9.99. What a steal! The label has since fallen into semi-obscurity due to unpaid royalties and distribution troubles. This vintage SST poster, in great condition with edgewear and crease marks from being folded, is from the label's 1992 independent record store sale.
