Kung Fu is a blanket term for Chinese Martial Arts. While Kung Fu itself is not a form of martial arts, various practices such as Tai Chi, Shaolin Quan, and Wing Chuan are. All of these forms stress the importance of patience and energy. It's not about violence. But everyone knows if you're a Kung Fu master, you can definitely whoop some a$$. It was also the name of the 1970s television show which started David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine. It ran on ABC for three seasons.
