Bad Brains are the first hardcore band ever. Founded in 1977, the Washington, DC-based four piece were so good they were literally kicked out of their hometown. So in 1980, the band moved to New York and began playing regularly at clubs like CBGB's. It was during this time the they recorded their first album, a self-titled cassette released by the label Roir. Before that point in 1982, the band had only a two-song single, so the only way to know the band's greatness was to either get a copy of their 7" or to see them live. With the release of their Roir tape, the Bad Brains were now accessible to anyone and everyone. Unsurprisingly, they took off. The band signed to various labels like SST, Caroline, and even major label Epic releasing record after record of amazing music while backing it up with the best live shows anywhere. Now, decades later, Bad Brains are widely regarded as the best hardcore band of all time, being nominated for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame, collaborating with brands like Supreme, and influencing everyone from Beastie Boys to Nirvana to Red Hot Chili Peppers. This original Bad Brains poster, in excellent condition, is for the release of 1996's rarities album Black Dots.
