Chuck Schuldiner founded Death, the metal band, in 1983. The guitarist and singer started the Florida-based band after his old band, Mantas, broke up. They released their debut LP Scream Bloody Gore on Combat in 1987. This was arguably the first ever death metal release. The record was almost entirely played by Schuldiner, as he recorded the bass, guitars, and vocals. In 1993, a decade into their career, the band released their album Individual Thought Patterns, their fifth album. It was released by Relativity and produced by Scott Burns, and it also notably featured Andy LaRocque from King Diamond on second guitar. Death continued on until Schuldiner's death in 2001, releasing seven albums in total and basically changing the entire landscape of metal in that time. This original Death shirt, in excellent condition with light fading and wear, is from the band's 1993 album Individual Thought Patterns
