The Washington Redskins were a professional football team. They trace their roots back to Boston in 1932 but found their way to the Washington, DC a few years later in 1937. They played in the National Football League before their merger with the AFL, winning two championships, and since then have been a member of the NFC East taking home three Super Bowl titles, being especially dominant throughout the 1980s right in the middle of their time at RFK Stadium with players like Joe Theismann, Art Monk, and Darrell Green leading the team. Eventually, the name was retired in 2020 and they have since been rebranded the Washington Commanders.
