The University Of Louisville was founded in 1798. It was the first public university in the United States to be owned by a city. It has since become a public state university of Kentucky and grown into one a preeminent institution of higher learning. The school is now home to over 20,000 students in various fields of study, both at the undergraduate and graduate level.
