The Grateful Dead were a band from California's Bay Area founded in 1965. They released 13 albums and sold over 35 million of them during their decades' long career. But the thing about the Dead is that they were band best experienced live. While the band had various lineup changes throughout their career, the core of Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, and Bill Kreutzmann remained a constant, the heart and soul of the band. Luckily for us, a great majority of Dead shows were recorded so we could relive all those great moments. Concert tape trading became an integral part of Deadhead culture. Sadly, Jerry Garcia died in 1995, but the Dead have continued on in various forms since then, most recently as Dead & Company which features Weir, Kreutzmann, and longtime drummer Mickey Hart with John Mayer taking Jerry's role. This vintage Grateful Dead long sleeve, deadstock in excellent condition, is from the band's New Year's show at the Oakland Coliseum in 1986.
