Jawbreaker are a punk band from the Bay Area, CA that was founded in New York City in 1986. Known for their poetic and often depressing lyrics, the band, which featured Blake Schwarzenbach on guitar and vocals, Chris Bauermeister on bass, and Adam Pfahler on drums, were active for a decade, writing and releasing four albums. The band's third album, 24 Hour Revenge Therapy, was released in 1994 on Tupelo and Communion Records. Recorded by Steve Albini, the band saw themselves refining their sound, partially due to the fact that Schwarzenbach had a polyp removed on his throat and had to adapt to a less raspy singing style than he was previously known for. Jawbreaker eventually split after the inner band turmoil escalated due to their major label signing and the scene's backlash backlash because of it. However, theyreunited in 2017 and have been active since. This original Jawbreaker promotional poster, in excellent condition with a horizontal crease and a few light surface marks from prolonged storage, was used to advertise the band's tour in support of 1994's 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
