Soundgarden were a grunge band from Seattle. They are basically the grunge band. It's almost hard not to diminish their work or make it sound cliché. Like they cut their teeth on SST and Sub Pop before becoming one of the most popular and well-respected bands of the decade. Yeah, they did do that, but if you're looking at this shirt you're probably aware that they were so much more. They released five albums in their first run (Ultramega OK, Louder Than Love, Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, Down on the Upside) before breaking up in 1997 and then got back together in 2010 and released one more album (King Animal). Chris Cornell (RIP), Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd, and Matt Cameron just wrote songs that were so full of feeling and played so well that it's hard to imagine them not reaching they superstar status they ended up at. In 1992, the band was on tour supporting Badmotorfinger, which was released in October 91 and was nominated for a Grammy and has since been certified double Platinum. Unsurprisingly, their shows were massive and the hottest ticket in town. So when they did a little hometown weekend tour plus Vancouver, the entire thing in advance. This original and rare Soundgarden shirt, with light spots and marks, is from a string of sold out shows in March 1992 in support of Badmotorfinger.
