New Order, the post-Joy Division band founded by Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, and Stephen Morris in 1980, released Technique, their fifth album, in 1989. The record was a massive success, going to #1 in the UK and subsequently being certified Gold in both the UK and the US. As you would expect, they hit the road to bring the songs to the people. And so in the summer of 89, New Order made the trek across the pond and came to do a month-long tour across North America, starting in California, going up through the midwest into Canada, and then ending on the east coast. This original New Order shirt, with light fading on the collar, is from the band's 1989 US tour in support of Technique.
