Rock Against Racism had its roots in England, with protest concerts dating back to 1976. In the States however, these annual events began happening in 1980, being tied into pro-marijuana Smoke Ins. The DC protest in 1985 was part concert and part rally, with two stages on the National Mall featuring acts like Beefeater, Scream Peace Of Mind, Corrosion Of Conformity, Reagan Youth, and Uptown Rhythm Kings and speakers like Jack Herer and James T. Penny. This original Rock Against Racism/Smoke In pamphlet from 1985 is in excellent condition.
