Youth of Today were a straight edge hardcore band from the late 1980s, the most important of their generation. YOT codified the aesthetic of what straight edge hardcore was and would continue to be, even to the present day. They started off their career with the Can't Close My Eyes 7" in 1985, which they quickly up with their debut album Break Down The Walls. In 1988, Youth Of Today release their sophomore album We're Not In This Alone on the Caroline label. The record, which was the first to feature the longest running lineup of the band with Ray Of Today on vocals, Porcell on guitar, Gorilla Biscuits' Walter Schreifels on bass, and Side By Side's Sammy Siegler on drums, continued the work the band had already started — offering ferocious hardcore with introspective and philosophical lyrics. The band recorded one final 7", Disengage, which was release on Ray's on Revelation Records before disbanding in 1990. Since they, they have gotten back together sporadically with various lineups. The WNITA lineup with Walter and Sammy has been playing together again since 2016. This original Youth Of Today shirt, in great condition with a few pinholes (see photos for details), features a red, moshing Ray to celebrate their We're Not In This Alone album.
