Venom, the extreme metal band from England, was founded in 1978. And then, a few years later, the band really solidified. That's when Cronos started singing and when they started releasing records. And once they got members in place and cemented their sound, they went nonstop for a few years. The band toured and released records regularly, releasing four LPs between 1981 and 1985. In 1986, the band was in the US supporting their album Possessed, their fourth LP. Legendary promoters booked a show for Venom at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium with two California bands: Exodus and Hirax. The show was legendary.
