The lava lamp was invented in 1963, a groovy and psychedelic time. Since then, the decorative, trippy lamps have come to stand for youth counterculture of the mid 20th century, which is mainly to say hippies. The lamps seem otherworldy, their motion is not of this Earth. Which is why, on this single stitch shirt from 1996, some aliens are coming down with them. Are they giving them away? Are they taking them? Who knows. But it looks great. This vintage single stitch alien-themed lava lamp shirt is in excellent condition.
