The Get Up Kids are an emo band from Kanas City. Founded in 1995, they were one of the most important acts helping to popularize and codify the new "midwest emo" sound and aesthetic, one that was able to jump between energetic melodic moments and slower, contemplative moments with tender and vulnerable lyrics. They signed to Doghouse with whom they released their debut, Four Minute Mile, and rose to the top of the underground scene before eventually signing to Vagrant and releasing Something To Write Home About in 1999. Since then, the band has continued writing, recording, and touring, still waving their midwest flag. This vintage Get Up Kids shirt is in great condition with a small tear on the front of the shirt.
