The Clash are one of the most important punk bands. Starting in London in 1976, The Clash brought together rock, R&B, and reggae influences with explicitly political lyrics to create something all their own. The band, whose most notable lineup included Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, and Topper Headon, released six albums during their decade-long career.
