Superchunk are an indie rock band from Chapel Hill, NC. They were founded in 1989 and helped define the North Carolina scene of the early 90s, one that was very much centered around the band's record label Merge, although they released a few records on other labels as well. On The Mouth, their third album and first with longtime drummer Jon Wurster, was released on seminal indie label Matador. They took a bit of a break at the beginning of the 2000s after a decade of intense touring and releases, but have remained steadily active again since 2010. The band has released over ten albums to date, and are still going to this day. This original Superchunk shirt, nicely worn and faded, is from the release of 1993's On The Mouth.
