Spam, the canned pork-ham food brand from Minnesota, was founded in 1937. The food became widely distributed in WWII as it was an ideal food for the military — it provided meat that didn't have to be fresh. Due to the ubiquity of the American military, Spam spread far beyond Minnesota and became a bit of a global phenomenon. Spam is still made, and eaten, to this day, and, of course, it's still in a can. This vintage Spam iron on ringer, lightly worn in good condition, features a shot of the famous can.
