Scream, the hardcore band from Washington, DC, was founded in 1981 by the Stahl brothers, Peter and Franz, on vocals and guitar, respectively, Skeeter Thompson on bass, and Kent Stax on drums. The group were formed during the first era of hardcore in the nation's capital and were included on the scene's most important label: Dischord. In 1986, the band released their third LP, Banging The Drum. The band's original lineup was still intact and they also added second guitarist Robert Lee Davidson. The album was the end of the original era of the Scream, as Stax would leave shortly after its release, notably being replaced by a young Dave Grohl, and the band would also leave Dischord for RAS Records. Scream continued on until 1990 when they broke up. Since then, they have reunited several times and have remained sporadically active again since the late 2000s. This original Scream poster, originally folded in great condition, promotes the band's 1986 album Banging The Drum on Dischord with an alternative cover photo.
