Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Los Angeles-based rock funk band, were founded in 1983. The band began playing underground punk gigs in the early 80s but wound up becoming a huge mainstream band in the early 90s. In 1991, RHCP released Blood Sugar Sex Magik, the follow up to to their breakthrough Mother's Milk. The album was produced by Rick Rubin and went to #3 on the Billboard Charts. It has since been certified seven-times Platinum. This original Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt, in great condition with light fraying around the color, is from 1991, the year the band released Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
