Overkill is a trash metal band from New Jersey founded in 1980. They released their sophomore album Taking Over in 1987 on Megaforce, a metal label underr major label Atlantic. As thrash metal was breaking through to the mainstream, Overkill found some substantial success, breaking into Billboard's top 200 and getting consistent airplay on MTV's Headbangers Ball. They also went on tour with some of the biggest names in metal that year, like Megadeth and Helloween. So in support of Taking Over, the band hit the road and went to Europe for a month and brought hits like "Use Your Head" to the public. Overkill are still active to this day, and still led by Carlo "D.D." Verni and Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth. This original Overkill shirt, with some seams coming undone on the sides of the shirt, is from their 1987 European tour in support of Taking Over
