Nintendo America, the American arm of the Japanese video game company, started their own fan club they called the Nintendo Fun Club in 1987. As a perk for members, they started sending out free magazine issues under the same name. It included news about upcoming releases, but more importantly it included tips on gameplay. The magazine grew very quickly, amassing a readership of over half a million people. After releasing only seven issues, Nintendo Fun Club turned into Nintendo Power. This original issue of Nintendo Fan Clubhas some tearing on the front and back cover, as well as some blue pen on the Zelda Underworld map.
