The New England Patriots are a professional football team founded in 1960, originally as an American League Football team before the NFL merger. While the 20th century wasn't particularly successful for the Pats, save for some division and conference championships, they became an incredible powerhouse in the new millennium. In two decades, they went from being a team with no Super Bowl wins to being tied for most Super Bowl wins (currently, they have six).
