Vintage Marion Barry "Mayor Barry '94" T-Shirt

Notify me when this product is available:

Marion Barry was Washington DC's Mayor from 1979 to 1991. He was a prominent civil rights leader in the 1960s, one of the first activists to make it in a major political position. Despite Barry's popularity, he became an infamous figure when he was caught smoking crack cocaine in 1990. He was arrested and served a six-month sentence, but quickly picked his political career back up. Barry won back his mayoral seat in 1994, famously telling people to "get over it," and later serving on DC Council. This vintage two-sided Marion Barry shirt, in great condition with a few light spots, is from his successful 1994 mayoral campaign.
