Hum are an atmospheric alt rock band from Champaign, IL founded in 1989. The band released their fourth album Downward Is Heavenward in 1998 on RCA. Their third album, You'd Prefer An Astronaut, scored the band a hit single with the song "Stars." DIH did not capitalize on this success, as it actually sold less copies than their last album, but it was largely praised by critics and fans. Hum would break up after in 2000 but sporadically reunited for shows after. However since 2015, they have been touring regularly and even released a fifth record, Inlet, in 2020. This original Hum ringer, cropped with wear and marks, is from the Downward Is Heavenward era.
