Fugazi was a band from Washington, DC. They played their first show in 1987 and quickly set out on the road, bringing their music and message to anywhere and everywhere that would have them. There's always a lot said about their practices — the fact that they never sold any merchandise other than records, that all of their shows were around $5, that they never used a set list, that they didn't give interviews to many publications, that they released all of their music on their own Dischord Records — but the fact is they wrote captivating and emotional music that inspired generations of music fans, an attempt to fully realize the opportunities of the underground music scene that the members were integral in helping found just a few years prior. During their time together, they released six LPs, four EPs, and a documentary soundtrack. They have been on hiatus since 2003. This original Fugazi flyer, with a small cut on the top, is from their show at the Scottish Rites Temple in Oakland with fellow DC band Nation Of Ulysses, Her Majesty's Baby, and Richard Loranger, as well as films by Craig Baldwin. The show can be heard via the Fugazi Live Archives.
