Chuck Schuldiner founded Death, the metal band, in 1983. The guitarist and singer started the Florida-based band after his old band, Mantas, broke up. They released their debut LP Scream Blood Gore on Combat in 1987. This was arguably the first ever death metal release. Death continued on until Schuldiner's death in 2001, releasing six more albums and basically changing the entire landscape of metal in that time, including 1995's Symbolic. Symbolic was their sixth album and their only to feature the lineup of Bobby Koelble, Monstrosity's Kelly Conlon, and drummer Gene Hoglan. The record saw the band moving into a more melodic territory. This original Death shirt, with a few pinholes and small repairs, is from the band's tour in support of their 1995 album Symbolic.
