In 1986, Black Flag released their sixth and final LP In My Head on the band's own SST Records. By this point in the band's career, their hardcore beginnings were far behind them, as they had been playing together in one iteration or another for a decade at that point, and they were playing and releasing weirdo art rock noise free jazz kind of music for a while at that point. Rollins had long hair, Kira Roessler was on bass, and Black Flag was still just relentlessly touring and creating. On June 27, 1986, the band played their last show in Detroit, MI, bringing one of the longest-running and most storied original hardcore bands to an initial end, which we obviously now know was not their real end. This original Black Flag In My Head tour shirt, worn in with minor signs of wear, is an amazing piece of Black Flag merch from their last year of touring and features, per usual, a great Raymond Petition illustration.
