Quickness was the fourth full length by the Bad Brains, the first hardcore band of all time. By this point in 1989, the band was well-loved and -respected. They had already established themselves as the best songwriters, musicians, and performers the genre had ever seen, and honestly they haven't been surpassed to this day. This reputation afforded the band the opportunity to showcase their skills while still experimenting. And what we got from that was the only humming/scatting that could induce moshing. But it's also always important to note that the Bad Brains, made up of four Black guys from DC, changed the course of music as we know it and whose cultural relevance has been perennially reaffirmed by bands (from Nirvana to 311 to The Weekend) to streetwear companies (the Supreme collaboration). This shirt is from the Quickness World Tour in 1989 and features the classic Bad Brains lion walking across the band's newer logo with a vibrant, Rastafarian colored burst in the background.
