CBGB's was already a legendary club by the time they started doing hardcore shows there in the mid 1980s. The scene a decade prior helped establish some of the most important American bands of the latter half of the 20th century, like The Ramones and Blondie. The NYHC scene then helped solidify the importance of CBGBs for a new scene and new generation. So by the time the 1990s rolled around, there was a lot of history wrapped up in the venue, but it was still active and focused on hosting underground bands. It's no wonder that two shows that featured a wide-ranging group of bands would be hosted there, and would now cause us to look back in wonder over two decades later. You had a show with: Assück, Shutdown, Overcast, Floorpunch, Drag Body, Inhuman, and Cavity. And you had another with: Today Is The Day, Damnation AD, Silent Majority, Indecision, and The Kill Quota. This double-sided flyer for two CBGBs shows in August is in great condition.
