Amorphis, the Finnish metal band, released their debut album The Karelian Isthmus in 1992. The band only formed two years earlier after the breakup of a few different bands. One of those previous bands sent a demo to Relapse Records, the Philadelphia, PA-based metal label, and receive an offer, but since they were broken up Amorphis sent a demo for their debut album back in response and were picked up instead. The Karelian Isthmus drew from Finnish history and Celtic mythology to create a dark world appropriate for their death metal stylings, a sound that they moved away from as time went on. This original Amorphis shirt, heavily faded in great condition, is from the 1992 release of their debut album The Karelian Isthmus.
