In 2008, Baltimore hardcore five-piece Trapped Under Ice released their debut 7" Stay Cold on Reaper Records. The scene was coming out of an era where the most popular bands were taking influence from the groove and style late 80s New York hardcore bands in response to the angsty and abrasive sound that was dominant just a few years before that. Trapped Under Ice released their demo in 2007 and implemented influences from the heavier side of hardcore, from different bands from the same NYHC scene their predecessors were pulling from and from Baltimore bands before them like Gut Instinct and Next Step Up. Stay Cold cemented this sound as the dominant style in hardcore and also made TUI the best band in the scene. The record, which featured cover art by Dan Higgs, was six songs of hard and hectic music, and to celebrate the release they had a show in Towson, MD at the 10 Car Pile UP with War Hungry, Mongoloids, Reign Supreme, Steel Nation, and Naysayer on April 26. This original screen printedTrapped Under Ice poster, with pinholes and a few surface marks, is from the band's Stay Cold record release who in 2008.
