The Grateful Dead were a band from California's Bay Area founded in 1965. They released 13 albums and sold over 35 million of them during their decades' long career. But the thing about the Dead is that they were band best experienced live. Luckily for us, a great majority of Dead shows were recorded so we could relive all those great moments with concert tape trading being an integral part of Deadhead culture.  While the band had various lineup changes throughout their career, the core of Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, and Bill Kreutzmann remained a constant, the heart and soul of the band. Sadly, Jerry Garcia died in 1995, but the Dead have continued on in various forms since then, most recently as Dead & Company which features Weir, Kreutzmann, and longtime drummer Mickey Hart with John Mayer taking Jerry's role. This vintage Grateful Dead tie-dye shirt from 1992, nicely worn in with light spots and pinholes, is from a string of shows in Nevada the band did in 1993.
