Vintage 1985 Black Flag "Raymond Pettibon" Stardust Ballroom Show Flyer

Black Flag are a hardcore punk band from Los Angeles, CA, one of the first. They were founded in 1976 and quickly became one of the most well-revered groups in the underground, known for their ferocity in all aspects of the band. They wrote, recorded, toured, and even practiced with a crazed energy. They were notorious in their hometown, often having shows end in riots with punks against police, but problems arose early on with several important lineup changes. By 1985, the band was fronted by their longest-running singer Henry Rollins and still led by guitarist Greg Ginn, and also featured Kira Roessler and Bill Stevenson on bass and drums, respectively. They transcended their early angry punk stylings and instead played an odd amalgamation of angry free jazz and punk. The band only made it one more year, breaking up in 1986 before a long stretch of various reunions in the modern era. This original Black Flag show flyer, with a horizontal crease in the middle, is from show at the Stardust Ballroom in 1985.
