After the success of 1989's The Little Mermaid, Walt Disney Pictures began work on Beauty And The Beast, a film they had tried and failed to make two times before. They worked with Little Mermaid composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman again and brought in Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise to direct, their debut. The movie, which included voice acting from Paige O'Hara and Robby Benson as Belle and Beast, was a huge success. It was the first animated film to ever be nominated for Best Picture Academy Award While it lost Best Picture to The Silence Of The Lambs, it still took home two Oscars for Best Score and Best Original Song. This original Beauty And The Beast tee, nicely worn and faded in great condition, features a great portrait of the titular Beast and the enchanted rose.
