Ashes were a hardcore band from Bethesda, MD, the Washington, DC suburb, founded in the early 1990s. The group played emotional and melodic hardcore. They released two demos and followed that up with two 7"s on the Network Sound label before splitting up. Guitarist Brian McTernan notably went on to sing in straight edge hardcore band Battery and became a notable producer and engineer of alternative acts. This original Ashes 1991 demo, in VG+ condition, is the band's first recording.
